Will it fit my phone?

It fits most smartphones, up to the size of an iPhone 17 Pro Max, even with a normal-thickness case on. A spring clamp inside grips your phone snugly while you use it, holding anything up to 3 3/16 inches wide and 7/8 inch thick. And since it skips MagSafe, you can keep your wallet, grip, or other attachment on the back. A couple of exceptions. Foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold are too wide for the clamp. And an extremely thick or rugged case can push even an iPhone 17 Pro Max past the limit, so if yours is on the chunky side, measure it with the case on to be sure it comes in under 3 3/16 inches wide and 7/8 inch thick.

What are the dimensions?

It stands 7 7/8 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/8 inches thick. About the size of a slim hardcover novel, so it sits right at home on the coffee table or nightstand.

Can I charge my phone while it’s inside?

Yes. There’s a port cutout at the bottom, so you can plug in and keep charging while your phone is clamped inside.

Can I still use my phone normally?

Yes. Open the cover, set your phone in the spring clamp, and use it exactly as you do now. The phone stays in your hand, dressed as a book.

Is it MagSafe?

No, and that’s on purpose. Skipping MagSafe keeps it compatible with most phones, and it means you can still use it when you have a grip, wallet, or other attachment on the back. We’re thinking about MagSafe versions too. If you’d want one, tell us at hello@meetcoverstory.com.

What is it made of?

Inside, both editions are the same: an ABS plastic housing with a spring clamp that holds your phone, and a magnet that keeps the front cover shut. ABS is the safe, non-toxic plastic that LEGO bricks are made from, so it holds up around little ones. The outside is where they differ. Newborn wears a paper hardcover, and Classic wears a linen one.

Which edition should I choose?

It depends on your child’s age. Newborn wears bold, high-contrast colors made for brand-new eyes still learning to see. Classic is a grown-up cover, plain enough that curious older kids glance right past it, and it stays useful through the grabby, into-everything stage, up to around 18 months.
